Schweizer, based in Elmira, N.Y, is a U.S. company specializing in the light helicopter, reconnaissance aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) markets. Effective immediately, Schweizer will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sikorsky. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

It also broadens Sikorsky's portfolio to include light rotorcraft and fixed-wing reconnaissance product lines.
