As President, Defense Systems & Services, Mehta is responsible for the full life-cycle of Sikorsky's military products and services - from proposal to delivery and support - for U.S. Government and international customers. Prominent products include the H-60 BLACK HAWK and SEAHAWK® helicopters, "Marine One" presidential transport, the CH-53K heavy lift helicopter currently in development, and the SB>1 DEFIANT™ rotorcraft designed jointly with Boeing. Mehta also maintains responsibilities for Sikorsky's U.S. government affairs function, and its role to capture new programs, including the VXX presidential helicopter replacement and the Air Force's combat rescue helicopter programs.
Mehta joined Otis Elevator Company in 1998 as Assistant General Counsel before moving to Sikorsky in 2000, rising to Associate General Counsel. In 2006, he took on general management in Sikorsky's aftermarket support organization before becoming President of Sikorsky's Helicopter Support, Inc. subsidiary. In 2011, he assumed the role of VP and COO of Sikorsky's aftermarket business. In April 2012, he was appointed President, Sikorsky Military Systems, which expanded to Defense Systems & Services in January 2014.
Mehta holds a BA degree from Stonehill College, and Juris Doctorate and Master of Public Administration degrees from the University of Connecticut. He serves on the board of directors for Sikorsky's joint ventures in Turkey and India.
